Houston U-Pick Flower Farms for Families

1. Summer Skye Gardens – Splendora

Houston’s newest flower farm, Summer Skye Gardens, can be found just north of the city in Splendora and features a special part of the farm dedicated to U-pick flowers. Families are welcomed to come out and snip their own blooms in the spring most weekends from Easter through June (check for updates on the Facebook page) and again in the fall. Depending on the season, flower pickers can find an assortment of cosmos, colorful zinnias, and sunflowers in the U-pick garden. You pay per container and can choose a 20oz cup for $20 or a large bucket for $75 to fill with your favorite picks. Clippers are available to borrow if you forget your own. Parking and restrooms are available on-site.

2. Froberg’s Farm - Alvin

Each year during their Fall Festival and Strawberry Festival, Froberg’s Farm opens the flower picking fields for visitors to frolic and find pretty flowers to snip. The variety usually includes zinnias, cosmos, and sunflowers. While you’re there, don’t miss out on the games, rides, playground, and so much more. In February of 2025, this family-favorite farm opened a U-pick tulip field filled with the lovely spring blooms in a variety of bold shades. It was a hit, so we expect to see the tulips again. Along with an entry fee, you purchase a cup to fill with flowers. Prices depend on the event and flower type, typically between $5-10. See more about Froberg's in our article.

3. Neal’s Berry Farm - Waller

This U-pick farm near Houston is a great place to get in-season blackberries, veggies, figs, and, in some years, peaches. It’s also a great spot to harvest your own sunflowers and zinnias! Open typically between early May and August or September, depending on the weather and crops, this is a great place to spend a summer day with the family. Kindergarten scissors are available, but it’s recommended that you bring your own shears if you want something a little sturdier. Farm admission costs $3 per person aged 2 and older and flower picking is $5 for all the stems you can fit into a large Solo cup.

4. Dewberry Farm – Brookshire

Bountiful blossoms are available for picking at Dewberry Farm during the Fall Festival and Spring Fest. When you’re done clipping cups full of your top flower picks, enjoy the 40+ attractions at the farm, including rides, barnyard animals, games, and more. The vivid zinnias and cheerful sunflowers you bring home will remind you of all the family fun you had. Flower picking is included in your festival ticket price. There's a ton to do at Dewberry–read more about it here.

5. Atkinson Farms – Spring

Atkinson Farms’ season typically ranges from March through October, and they offer juicy berries, colorful flowers, and plenty of seasonal produce. In the flower patch, you can pick giant sunflowers and punchy zinnias throughout the season. A tulip field blooms in the winter, waiting for you to snip a bouquet of the beauties – a great excuse to get the kids out during the colder weather. Prices range from $1.50 per tulip stem to $4.99 per dozen zinnias and sunflowers. Clippers are not provided, so you’ll need to bring your own.
